49th annual festival at Tannehill State Park May 1-7, 2022 Featuring Joe Collins and New Harmony Dulcimers
We will be holding our 49th annual festival at Tannehill state park in McCalla, Alabama this year. Jams occur during the week prior to the festival in the campground, usually an afternoon jam and an evening jam, and the schoolhouse should be available at night if the pandemic allows. Official activities begin on Thursday night, when we have a shrimp boil provided by SADA at the Kiwanis pavilion (you may bring sides or desserts), then jam afterward.
Friday morning and afternoon are Gazebo performances at the Gazebo – See the festival schedule link below for the schedule.
Friday night will be the pot luck supper at the Event Center (health situation may change this), and of course jamming afterward in the Kiwanis Pavilion, Event center and schoolhouse. Saturday groups will perform at the Gazebo and will have a beginning dulcimer class from 9-10:25 at the Kiwanis and an intermediate class from 10:30 – noon. Hammered dulcimer classes will be at the schoolhouse taught by Don Hill at the Schoolhouse. Joe Collins, Jan Hammond and Denise Guillory will be teaching dulcimer classes.
Saturday lunch: the park is bringing in a vendor to provide lunch at the park on Saturdays. The food truck will have burgers, fries, catfish, chicken, and a variety of other items.
Saturday afternoon is open stage at the Kiwanis Pavilion.
Sunday morning is our church service at the schoolhouse at 9am.
